A Little Travel!

Buy a ticket, grab a suitcase and bring a map, its time to travel the globe! What a pleasure to explore and tell the stories! Think of the best aspect of every city in the world, and image that you could take a little bit of the essence with you. A bouquet not of flowers, but of images and places you admire, some tasty infusions that tease your senses and stories to share. Sharing the experience makes it feel so much deeper! A little travel, a little culture, a little famous architecture, a little music concert - and we can almost image us being there. Take a few things along on your trip such as a camera (or vintage one), hats and gloves (just in case), sunglasses or any other accessories, comfortable shoes, and fancy attire and off you go! Pack everything in light-weght backpack. Exploring!

I created this Blog post out of a love for travel and appreciation of the beauty that is all around us in the world and hope that by sharing my own observation and advice, others could enjoy the trips with me!

Part 1 - San Francisco Hidden Bridges

Today I'd like to introduce you to wonders of San Francisco, the beautiful “City by the Bay”. It isn't easy being an attraction in San Francisco, as there are so many of them in this fast and dynamic city, and each one is calling to claim to be the one. Amazing parks, museums, and historic spots that would shine and attract tourists like in any other cities if they wouldn't overshadow by the city world-famous icons. The Golden Gate Bridge, the cable cars, Union Square, Nob Hill - with so many breath-taking sites, it's difficult to get to know them all. We all know the big name attractions, but you don't want to miss the lesser know favorites like Mission Dolores or the newer attractions such as the artistic and delightful 16th Avenue Tiled Steps. Let’s check these surprising picks out and make your next visit a breeze.

Now, let's put our walking shoes on and take an exciting and fresh scroll through the City by the Bay!

Golden Gate Bridge - the Superstar attraction known around the world! Since 1937, the Golden Gate Bridge has carried more than 2 billion vehicles - plus countless pedestrians and at least one wild deer from the Marin County.

Speaking of bridges, do you know about a much smaller one called the Drum Bridge? For some 120 years, the Drum Bridge in Golden Gate Park's Japanese Tea Garden has witnessed generations of visitors. Unbelievable to imagine that it's dramatic shape allows boats to pass underneath easily!

If you are more poetic like me, then you will see how gorgeous a bridge's ark can reflect the still silver pool below, creating an unbroken circle or "moon". Which brings us to another little known bridge called the Moon Bridge. Commissioned for the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894, the wooden bridge was part of the Japanese Village exhibit. After the fair, Japanese landscape architect Makata Hagivara devoted his life to expanding the gardens into a five-acre paradise of carefully manicured trees, tranquil koi ponds, and precious statues surrounding the rustic teahouse. Through the years the park and bridge have had it’s ups and downs. Today the bridge makes visitors slow their pace and thoughts as they stroll the winding pathways around the garden, stop by to sip a cup of tea and create a tranquil feeling, and appreciate their fortune. If you were like me, you would reach for your camera and compose some wonderful images of this resting place to take along with you. Or maybe you could buy yourself a nice little tea bag along with the teacup!

There are so many hidden jewels in San Francisco and you need to be here in person to explore the “City by the Bay” and find all of them! One big recommendation when you decide to come to San Francisco is to check the weather. If you come here during the summer be sure to pack a good warm coat and at least one sweater! While San Francisco has pretty mild weather all year round, especially compared to other places in the country, the coldest time of the year in the city is often the summer when the fog rolls in off of the ocean. In fact, Mark Twain once said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”. San Francisco famous summer fogs will envelope you while you explore the Pacific coast side of the city and Golden Gate Bridge, so come prepared. Looking for that warm coat for your trip?
