About the artist: Victoria Kostenko (1927 - 2015), an outstanding artist of the region of the Dnipropetrovsk region in eastern Ukraine. She was a rare Soviet woman whose talent was astounded. It is noteworthy that she managed to get closer to patriarchal men who did not like women at all. Let me introduce you to the incredible rare Exclusive Original Vintage Uelen Inuit Bone Carving and Enghraving 1968, INUIT Bone Carved and Engraved COLLECTIBLE PEN / PENCIL HOLDER, Chukotka, Bering Strait, original composition. Handmade item, 10 * 6 * 4 cm = 4" * 2.4" * 1.6", 139 g. Without restoration. Sculpture has a not noticeable crack on the one side, but the full cup is solid enough. The pen holder is old and in good condition corresponding to grade and age, there are minimal traces of time. There are the indications on the bottom of sculpture - Uelen, 12 rubles, Signed Chuplyu and Pechetegina. Chuplyu (1913-1969), born in Dezhnev, died in Uelen, Chukchi, carver, worked at home in Dezhnev in the 1940s, from 1955 to the end of the 1960s. worked at Uelen workshop. The works are in the Moscow, Magadan museums. The Honoured Artist of Russia, worked at the U e l e n workshop from 1966 to 1995. Since 1995 works at home in U e l e n and teaches history and art of Chukotka at the U e l e n school.
