Let me introduce your attention the incredible Engraved bone art by Inuit and Yupik, Uelen, Rarity original USSR Chukotka composition, 48 cm, 0.77 kg, handmade Far North art of Bering Strait.  The figurine is old in very! good condition corresponding to grade and age, there are some minimal traces of time. Uelen’s and Magadan (Chukotka) craftworks are perhaps most famous for their detailed engraving on bone which often depicts their legends as well as scenes of traditional activities like legends, hunting and reindeer herding.   There is a handwritten indication on the bone cut "Village Uelen, engraver Irgutegina G., price is 82 rubles". Irgutegina (Eines, before wedding) Galina Ivanovna, born in 1945, female, chukchi, engraver, Honoured Artist of Russia, worked at the Uelen Workshop from 1967 to 1996, since 1996 worked at home in Uelen. Her works are to be found at the museumsin Moscow, Anadyr, Uelen.
