Jean-Joseph Ange d'Hautpoul (13 May 1754 – 14 February 1807) was a French cavalry general of the Napoleonic wars. He came from an old noble family of France whose military tradition extended for several centuries.  In August 1805, d'Hautpoul was given command of the 2nd division of cuirassiers under Joachim Murat. Sir Archibald Douglas (The Tyneman- Old Scots "Loser") (before 1298 – 19 July 1333) was a Scottish noble, Guardian of Scotland and military leader during struggle for independence of Scotland. Archibald Douglas was James Duglasa's younger brother, the close friend and the colleague of king Robert Bruce. In 1332, in the conditions of Edward Balliol intrusion, Archibald has been elected by the regent of Scotland at juvenile David II Bruce. Having headed armies of supporters of Bruces, Archibald has broken Edward Balliol army in battle at Annan on December, 17th, 1332 and has superseded Balliol from the country. In 1333 the army of English king Edward III which has besieged Berik has intruded in Scotland. Armies of Archibald Douglas have hastened to the aid of the besieged city, but have been broken in the battle at Halidon-Hille on July, 19th, 1333, and Archibald is killed. Son of Archibald Douglas, William, has received in 1358 from king David II title the earl of Douglas and there was the line founder «Red Duglas», the future earls of Angus and dukes Hamilton.
