USSR Soviet Union Russian Collection Order of Maternal Glory (2nd class) "The Order of Maternal Glory (Russian: Орден ""Материнская слава"") was a Soviet civilian award created on 8 July 1944 by Joseph Stalin and established with a decision of the Praesidium of Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Its status was confirmed by the Soviet's decision of August 18, 1944 and later modified by September 16, 1947, May 28, 1973 and May 28, 1980 decisions. It was awarded on behalf of the Praesidium of Supreme Soviet of the USSR through decrees of local Soviet presidencies. The order was divided in three classes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd class (the highest being the 1st class). It was conferred to: 1st class: mothers bearing and raising 9 children; 2nd class: mothers bearing and raising 8 children; 3rd class: mothers bearing and raising 7 children. USSR Soviet Union Russian Collection Order of the October Revolution 1967-1991 COPY "The Order of the October Revolution (Russian: Орден Октябрьской Революции, Orden Oktyabr'skoy Revolyutsii) was instituted on October 31, 1967, in time for the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was awarded to individuals or groups for services furthering communism or the state, or in enhancing the defenses of the Soviet Union, military and civil. It ranked second amongst the Soviet orders, after the Order of Lenin. The order consisted of a badge, which was a red star with golden rays between the arms; at the centre was a pentagon bearing the image of the Cruiser Aurora participating in the October Revolution. Above it was a red flag bearing the words ""October Revolution"" in Russian. A Hammer and Sickle emblem was placed at the bottom. The badge was worn on the left chest with a red ribbon bearing five blue stripes at the centre.
