Ukraine Coin 2015, Coin 120 years to Kharkiv Zoo, Collectible Coin, Nickel Silver Coin It is dedicated to one of the oldest zoos in Europe, which performs a cultural and educational function and is a hallmark of the city of Kharkiv. The zoo is located in the city center, covers an area of ​​22 hectares and has about 400 species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Among them are 145 rare and endangered species listed in the International Red Book and the Red Book of Ukraine. In 1925, the Kharkiv Zoo was the first in Ukraine to acquire a representative of one of the largest animals in the world - an elephant. On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top a small State Emblem of Ukraine and an inscription in a semicircle UKRAINE, a stylized composition: it depicts the animals of the zoo, which meet young visitors at the entrance; below - the year of coinage 2015, denomination 2 UAH, logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (right). On the reverse of the coin is placed: in the center against the background of a stylized image of the city of Kharkiv - an elephant holding a flower trunk, and the inscriptions: KHARKIV ZOO (semicircle above), 120 / years (below).
