Hutsulia is located in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains and is known for its needlework, woodcarving, weaving, pottery and pysanky (Easter  eggs). The most used colors in Hutsulian pysanka's are yellow, orange, red and black or dark red colors.   Decorating their pysanky hutsuly are using images of plants and animals that surround them in daily life. They symbolize happiness and prosperity, aspecially horses, deers, squirrels, birds and fish. These symbols represent ancient pysanka traditions of this wonderful land. I have put my favorite motifs from pysanky to Ostrich Shell.  This jewelry combines modern and national folk pysanka style, so it will suit to any of your clothes. Pysanka earrings is made by hand. This piece of art is done using the same technique as traditional pysanky (kistka, beeswax and batik technique). After painting they are shaped to special geometrical form by hand. In the end the shell is decorated with acryl paintings and covered with several layers of UV protection.
