Small body size and its convenient mounting  embedded and external boxes. 2. Digital motion sensors in the standard wiring boxes.   3. External light sensor allows you to choose the installation location with a constant light level is not dependent on or off lighting stairs or more light sources.   4. Easy and intuitive customization system.   5. Adjustable "light duty" first and last steps of a ladder.   6. Ability to connect through passage switch for lighting control at any time, regardless of the lighting conditions.   7. Low power consumption.   8. Long service life of LED light sources (tape or spotlights).   9. Easy installation and operation.   The algorithm of the system        When the sensor has exposed the movement, the staircase lights are illuminated in the direction of the person's movement at the speed set in the system settings. After the waiting time has elapsed, the illumination of the steps set in the system settings is switched off in the reverse order. If during the illumination of the entire ladder the sensor detects motion, then the timer is reset to zero and the time until the light is turned off is considered from the moment when the sensor ceases to see the movement of people on the stairs.  If the movement on the stairs on the other side is detected while the backlight is on, the illumination is switched on in both directions. It also turns off in the reverse order. If you press the "Down" or "Up" button, the backlight turns on from the pressed button and will be on until either of these buttons is pressed. The operation of the sensors is not taken into account. The "up" and "down" buttons on the controller are connected to the digital inputs of the controller "Up button" and "Down button". To these inputs you can connect additional buttons without fixing. For example, buttons for doorbells. See the diagram of the connection in the PDF file, the link to which you will find below. Additional buttons are not included.       Using a light sensor.   The controller can be used as a light sensor and without it. When connected to the controller light sensor should activate its use (claim 1. Setting) or deactivated when not using the sensor. The sensor should be installed in such a place that it would not be reached by light from indoor lighting and the lighting levels themselves. Digital sensor delivers a logic controller port 0 when the lighting is not sufficient or logical unit if the light level is less than the set limit. When the lighting is activated by light duty first and last stages and the controller is allowed to turn on the backlight levels for the signals from motion sensors depending on the selected algorithm (see. Above). When driving on the stairs when the backlight is switched on or suddenly steps onto the sensor light gets brighter light controller activation threshold - the staircase lights and duty levels off and the controller will go into standby mode. Job motion sensors and processing of people on the stairs counters maintained even when the lights on the signal light sensor is not implemented.   Using the motion sensor.   The controller allows you to connect any motion sensors, which you need. It can be both pyroelectric or ultrasonic. You can connect both sensors of the same type or a single pyroelectric and ultrasonic in any combination. The default factory setting for the width of the stairs of the ultrasonic sensor is set equal to 0.8 meter. The movement will be determined if the distance to the obstacle is reduced by more than 10 cm. Measurements of ultrasonic sensors are carried out by calculating the average value of 5 measurements, that virtually eliminates false positives when using ultrasonic sensors. If necessary, you can easily change the width of the stairs through the controller setup menu in step 7. Details can be found in the user manual URL: https://shop.xopc.net.ua/files...   Note!  Ultrasonic sensors have certain technological shortcomings. Their principle of operation is based on the reflected high frequency sound. Therefore, ultrasonic sensors can not detect an obstacle if a person is dressed in a sound-absorbing clothes and have a certain delay in the work, because return time of the sound wave takes from 50 to 500 Milis We recommend used pyroelectric sensors, whenever possible. The use of ultrasonic  sensors is justified only when the staircase has no handrail or banister is delicate and next to the stairs is communicating zone through which people move and it may cause false triggering of illumination ladder pyroelectric sensors. To connect the ultrasonic sensor to use a shielded twisted pair wire with a cross section view of the length of the wire, but not less than 0.5 mm. square (AWG20). Braided shield is recommended to ground. It is recommended to avoid the length of more than 10m. If the wire is longer than 10m, should be applied thicker wire.     Ultrasonic sensors are not recommended to be installed at a distance of 50 cm from the floor or wall as this may cause false switching on the system.     The presence of other ultrasound sources in the sensor area may cause erroneous triggering.       Also note that ultrasonic rangefinders are capable of measuring distances of not more than 1.5 meters. If the distance to the reflective surface is very large or there is no such surface at all in front of the sensor, the sensor causes the backlight to be delayed for each stage for about 1 second. In such cases, you should try to pick up the installation site so that the sensor can see what kind of close-lying wall or obstacle or refuse this type of sensor.       Important. Dear buyer. All products sent to you are tested on the stand for at least 72 hours. Also, before shipping the entire kit is tested for all functions and ports. After testing, the product is packed and shiping to you. After shiping, I provide you with a link to Youtube with a video report of checking and packaging your product (the video on YouTube is saved as confidential information and is only viewable to you). This allows you to completely exclude possible hidden defects, as well as disputes on health issues or product conformance. You can be sure that you get exactly what you see in the photo and video.    Please be very careful when connecting the product. First, mount the step lights and check the performance of each step separately by connecting them to the power source. Keep in mind that the power of the luminaires of one step does not exceed 0.4A (when the voltage of the luminaires is 12V - 5W, at a voltage of 24V - 10W). Exceeding the power of the fixtures or closing the wires of fixtures or LED strips will result in the failure of the output keys of the system. Check the polarity of the wires and sensors connected to the inputs carefully. Violation of the polarity or wrong connection of wires to the inputs can lead to the destruction of the microprocessor of the system and its failure. To the output + 5V only sensor power can be connected. The maximum load power to be connected to the "+ 5V" output must not exceed 500mA. Any damage to the product that may occur during improper connection or violation of the usage rules is not guaranteed and claims for them are not accepted. If you have any questions about the connection, ask them to me. I will gladly answer your questions. It is better to ask a question before the connection starts, as this will save a lot of time and effort, and also will save your ladder in good condition.   A detailed video guide to connecting and configuring the system is available at the following link to YouTube. Connecting LED strips or LED lighting fixtures. First step. First, mount the LED strip. Connect all "+" clips to one lead to the "+" terminal of the power supply. Then manually alternate and one-by-one connect the "-" wire from each step to the "-" terminal of the power supply. Make sure that all steps work correctly and there is no wire shortage. Also, make sure that there is no problem in the soldering points of the LED strips. If the tapes are mounted on a metal base, pay attention that the tapes do not close on the ground. Only convinced that everything is assembled and connected correctly and the power of one step does not exceed 0.4A (for a voltage of 12V nominally 4.8W, maximum permissible 5W.) Go The second step. - Disconnect the power supply from the mains. Connect the test leads from the steps to the corresponding wires of the controller outputs. Note that the first step is connected to the "Out01" output, and the last step to the "Out26" output. The second step to "Out02", the third to "Out03" and so on. If you use fewer steps than 26, the last step is still connected to the "Out26" output. After connecting all the steps and checking the correct connection of the wires and isolating them, you can turn on the power supply. Note that shorting the wires "+" and "-" of the LED strip will result in exceeding the permissible power of one step and failure of the output on which there was a short circuit or even all groups of 7 steps of the chip on which there was a short circuit. Please be careful. In this case, the first and last steps will be put on standby. By pressing the "Up" button "Down" you can check the LED strip lights. After that, turn off the power supply and connect the sensors according to the user's manual. Then turn on the system and adjust the number of steps you need. By default, the use of all 26 steps is enabled. If you use fewer steps and have not adjusted the number of steps used, then when you enter from the top of the step "Out26" to the next one, there will be a large delay in time during which the controller will include unused steps. For ultrasonic sensors, the quality of the wires used is important. This should be a twisted pair of 0.5mm. square is necessarily shielded. Also, ultrasonic sensors may not work correctly when using sound-absorbing clothing or coatings. All features of ultrasonic sensors are described on the product page and in the user's manual. Frequently Asked Questions - Can I use a system with a 5V DC power supply? The system is designed to operate with a supply voltage of 8 to 25V DC. Working with power supplies and luminaires with a voltage different from the specified can cause damage or not stable operation of the system. - What kind of lamps can I use? The system is designed to be used in conjunction with dimmable LED lights or LED stripes with a voltage of 12 or 24 VDC. The current of the luminaires or LED strips should not exceed 0.4A (0.5A maximum, taking into account the resistance of the wires at the point of connection to the controller) for one step. Exceeding the current will lead to system failure. So for one step, the maximum power of luminaires with a supply voltage of 12V DC is 12V * 0.4A = 4.8W; with a supply voltage of 24V DC 24V * 0.4A = 9.6W. If you want to use spotlights with powerful LEDs and a driver stabilizing the current for each fixture, then consider that such drivers do not work well with PWM modulation of the brightness of the fixtures. These drivers do not provide a smooth brightness change in 128 steps, which the controller provides and switching on comes in jumps of 5-6 steps. As a result, you will turn on the steps by blinking, and you will not succeed in achieving smoothness. It is better to use luminaires with several SMD LEDs and resistors without a power driver, which work well with PWM brightness control. For how certain lamps work with PWM, consult their seller or manufacturer. - I want to use LED stripes. What type and length can I connect to one step. Data on the possibility of using different LED stripes, see the table: LED Type (LED CHIP) Number of LEDs per 1 meter Supply voltage of LED strip Power consumption per 1 meter of LED strip (W / m) Current strength per 1 meter of LED strip Maximum allowable length of LED strip for one step SMD 3528 60 12 V DC 4.8 W/m 0.4A 1 m (3'3.37") SMD 3528 120 9.6 W/m 0.8A 0.5m (1'7.685") SMD 3528 60 24V DC 4.8 W/m 0.2A 2 m (6'6.74") SMD 3528 120 9.6 W/m 0.4A 1 m (3'3.37") SMD 5050 30 12V DC 7.2 W/m 0.6 A 70 cm (2'1.591") SMD 5050 60 14.4 W/m 1.2A 35 cm (1'1.78") SMD 5050 30 24V DC 7.2 W/m 0.3A 1.4m (4'3.181") SMD 5050 60 14.4 W/m 0.6A 70 cm (2'1.591") SMD 3014 120 12V DC 12 W/m 1A 40 cm (1'3.748") SMD 3014 240 24 W/m 2A 20 cm (7.874") SMD 3014 120 24V DC 12 W/m 0.5A 80 cm (2'7.496") SMD 3014 240 24 W/m 1A 40 cm (1'3.748") SMD 335 60 12V DC 4.8W/m 0.4A 1 m (3'3.37") SMD 335 60 24V DC 4.8W/m 0.2A 2 m (6'6.74") SMD 5630 60 12V DC 14.4 W/m 1.2A 35 cm (1'1.78") SMD 5630 60 24V DC 14.4 W/m 0.6A 65 cm (2'1.591") !!! Pyroelectric sensor. The controller can work with pyroelectric sensors or ultrasonic rangefinders in any combination. Pyroelectric sensors are easy to install and connect, do not require additional settings. They determine the movement of objects, the temperature of which is 10 degrees or more higher than the temperature of the surrounding objects. They can detect movement up to 5 meters away. The angle of view of the sensors is approximately 45-50 degrees (for more details, see the diagram in the user manual). The sensors are not demanding on the choice of installation location and can be installed near the floor or steps. This type of sensor is preferred if your staircase allows it. Ultrasonic sensor. An ultrasonic sensor is a rangefinder that measures the distance to an obstacle. Its principle of operation is based on the emission of an ultrasonic signal, which, after being reflected from an obstacle, returns to the sensor. The controller calculates the distance to the obstacle based on the speed of sound and the signal return time. Compares it with the value that you have written into memory and if the measured distance is less - turns on the light. The maximum distance for detecting obstacles is 1.2m (47 "). The principle of operation of ultrasonic sensors has some technological disadvantages: - the sound is not reflected from the sound-absorbing surfaces. The sensor will not see soft sound-absorbing objects - the speed of sound depends on temperature and atmospheric pressure, therefore, when this parameter is changed, the distance value may slightly change. - The angle of propagation of the sound wave is approximately 45-60 degrees (see the diagram in the user manual for more details). Therefore, it is important to choose the right location for the sensor. It should not be located close to the floor or a step, as if it is close to the side surface, the sensor will measure the distance to this surface, and not to an obstacle on the stairs. Therefore, it is recommended to install the sensor at least 50 cm from the floor or step. - Ultrasonic rangefinders are high-frequency devices operating at a frequency of more than 400 kHz. Therefore, use shielded wires no longer than 10m (32 feet) to connect them.   Shielded wires must be used for all types of sensors. In this case, the shield of the wire should be connected to "GND" of the power supply. This will protect the system from electromagnetic interference and inductive pickup. Since any wire is an antenna, it collects inductive interference from other electrical devices in your home. Failure to comply with this rule can lead to erroneous switching on of the system due to inductive currents in the wires. Work algorithm. The controller is in standby mode. At this time, a standby effect may appear on the stairs. It can be: - completely off LEDs. - Only the first and last rungs are enabled in low brightness or animated modes. - The outermost LEDs on each step on the left and right side are on. - Running light on the left and right on the extreme LEDs with a certain interval of time. To indicate the location of the stairs in the dark. If a turn-on signal is received from one of the two sensors, the controller will start sequentially turning on the LEDs of the steps from the triggered sensor to the opposite side. You can also select any static color and many turn-on effects in runtime. You can also choose dynamic turn-on effects: rainbow effect, flame effect. After all steps have been turned on, the system will go into standby mode before shutting down. You can set the waiting time yourself. If during this time one of the sensors is triggered, the wait timer will restart. The light will be turned off when the waiting time has elapsed since the last triggering of the sensor. Then the light will turn off in the same direction. Description of the operation of the light sensor. You can activate the use of the light sensor and set the threshold and sensitivity for turning off the system when a certain level of illumination is exceeded. If the room becomes lighter than you indicated, the light will be turned off. However, you can still forcibly turn on the light using the touch buttons on the controller or switches if you are using them. But the sensors will not turn on the light. If the illumination level becomes lower, the controller will turn on standby mode again and start polling the sensors. Also, when the light sensor is activated, you can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor in order to exclude its reaction to short-term changes in lighting caused, for example, by the headlights of cars passing on the street, and the like. You can also activate the adaptive brightness mode. In this mode, you set the percentage to decrease the brightness from the one you set in complete darkness. This way the controller will calculate and dim the LEDs as the overall lighting level changes. For example, you set the threshold for turning off the light to 150lm, the brightness for the standby mode is 30, and the brightness for the on mode is 100 points. And they asked to reduce the brightness in the dark by 70%. Then, in complete darkness, the brightness of the steps will be 9 points in the standby mode, and 30 points in the operating mode. This will keep your eyes in the dark and prevent the light from blinding you. Moreover, as the illumination decreases, the brightness will proportionally change as the illumination in the room decreases. This ensures comfortable observation of the lighting. System Setup. The system is configured using the built-in WEB-server through the WEB interface. You can connect to the controller's Wi-Fi hotspot from your mobile device, or configure the system to work on your home network using a router. Then you can connect to the controller from any device on your home network. Having connected to the controller's WEB interface, you can set: - Type of LED strip used - The number of steps and the number of address pixels for each step. - Select the type of sensors used and set the switching distance for ultrasonic sensors. - Configure Wi-Fi connection and home network settings - Select an effect in standby mode (or disable it) - Select the switch-on effect in operation. - Adjust color and brightness for standby - Adjust the color and brightness for the working mode of inclusion. - Set the speed of the effects to turn on and the time to wait before turning off - Customize dynamic animated effects, frame rate, number of colors and so on. Depending on the selected effect. - Configure the mode of using the light sensor, shutdown threshold, sensitivity and adaptive brightness parameters if you want. Automatic staircase lighting system SmartStairway SS-26LCD PRO Allows you to create lighting using LED light sources with a current of up to 5A per channel from 4 to 26 steps with automatic activation. The controller is designed to work with monochrome (single-color) LED strips and lamps with a supply voltage of 12 or 24V DC and a power of not more than 5A for each of the steps (for a voltage of 12V, the maximum allowable power is 60W per channel, and for a voltage of 24V - not more than 120W for each channel). Luminaires and LED strips must PWM dimming, otherwise they may flicker at low brightness values. As a rule, the vast majority of LED strips are well dimmable, but still check this parameter with the seller of LED strips. If you want to create multi-color backlighting using analog RGB LED strips, use the optional SmartStairway APS-21 RGB Inverter Amplifier. The controller allows you to create static lighting steps with a smooth successive switching on of steps one by one in the direction of movement of a person (from the entrance to the exit) or from both sides, if the entrance to the stairs is made from two sides at once. In standby mode, you can get emergency lighting for the first and last steps by setting their brightness from 0 to 100%. Accordingly, if you set the brightness value to 0%, the first and last steps will be turned off in standby mode. •   You can connect a digital light level sensor to the system, which is included in all kits except for the “minimum” kit. This sensor does not have a housing and has a compact size. It can be mounted under any decor elements of the stairs, it is necessary to leave only a hole with a diameter of 5 mm for the photosensitive element. The sensor has a trimming resistor that will allow you to adjust the required brightness level at which the system starts to work. Provides day/night operation. If you do not need it, you can simply deactivate the sensor in the settings menu. • The system allows you to create interactive lighting stairs with 4 to 26 steps with one entrance and exit. (i.e. one flight of stairs (staircase)) You can connect a digital light level sensor to the system, which is included in all kits except for the “minimum” kit. • The system can work with three types of sensors in any combination: Pyroelectric sensor. Detects the movement of warm objects at a distance of up to 7 meters. Ultrasonic rangefinders. Detects an obstacle at a distance of up to 1.2m. Based on the principle of a reflected sound signal. Infrared NPN obstacle sensors. They detect an obstacle at a distance of up to 0.8 m. Based on the principle of a reflected infrared beam. At rest, they give a logical unit - a high signal. When an obstacle is detected - a logical zero (low signal). This is the most practical sensor, since this principle almost completely eliminates possible false alarms, errors in the choice of wires and the occurrence of induction currents in incorrectly selected and laid wires. The system is configured using buttons and a two-line character display. It also displays information about the status of the system and the distance values measured by ultrasonic sensors. The setting is carried out using an intuitive interface of the settings menu and the selection of values by mechanical buttons. For your convenience, we have created a short video tutorial on connecting and configuring, the link to which you will find below. Maximum load power per channel: 5 A /channel (with a load of 12V - 60W, with a load of 24V - 120W.)   The choice of sensors and their differences. Therefore, use shielded wires no longer than 10m ( 32 feet ) to connect them.   Infrared obstacle sensors. This type of sensor provides obstacle detection at a distance of 3 to 80 cm. The distance is adjusted using a multi-turn trimmer and has an LED indicating obstacle detection. It works on the principle of reflected infrared beam. So, for example, you can set the distance, for example, 70 cm, and the sensor will be triggered if the distance to the obstacle is less than the set distance. At the same time, the sensor will not see any obstacles further away. The special feature of this sensor is its NPN output. That is, when an obstacle is detected, the sensor outputs a logical zero (low signal), the rest of the time, when there is no obstacle, it provides a logical unit (high signal) at the output. This is very useful if the wires are long enough and if induced currents from other electrical appliances or wires can occur in these wires. It will not give false inclusions while doing so. This is the best type of sensor for stairways without railings or if the sensor is directed into walkways. It is more practical than ultrasonic sensor. The controller provides automatic lighting of stairs with 4 to 26 steps with one entrance and exit. In standby mode, the first step and the last step are on in low brightness mode, or you can turn them off. The brightness of the on-duty steps can be adjusted from 0 to 100% The entrance and exit can be equipped with a sensor suitable for your ladder and its configuration and (or) a switch button (not included). When triggered, the controller will start smooth and sequential activation in the direction from the triggered sensor (or button) to the opposite one. You can adjust the turn-on speed, and the overall brightness of all steps. If the sensor on the other side is triggered, the controller will start switching on the steps in the opposite direction.  After all steps are fully enabled, the controller waits for the time you specified before switching off. This time can be set in 5 second increments. The minimum waiting time is 5 seconds. If during this time at least one sensor works again (someone re-enters the stairs), the timer will restart and the waiting time will start again.  After the specified time has elapsed, the controller will smoothly and sequentially turn off the steps in the opposite direction. The switch-off speed is always 2 times higher than the switch-on speed in order to save energy, since after a person leaves the stairs there is no need to light the stairs. Description of the operation of the light sensor.   A digital light level sensor can be connected to the controller, which will allow you to turn off the system during daylight hours (day / night mode). The light level is adjusted by the user at will using a trimming resistor on the sensor. Unlike the younger model of the SS-26 controller, it does not matter where you install the sensor, the light from the steps no longer interferes with it. Now the sensor stops being interrogated after the start of switching on and will not lead to turning off the steps after the start of switching it on. Now you can install the sensor directly on the stairs. This is made possible by a new algorithm and a more powerful controller processor. SmartStairway SS281x-Wi-Fi Controller for automatic RGB stair lighting with addressable LED strips    The controller is designed to work with addressable RGB LED strips WS281 * (WS2811, WS2812, Neopixel) with 1 control channel. The controller allows you to create both static lighting in any color of your choice, as well as animated effects. The system has a light sensor that allows you to turn off the light in the daytime and activate it at night. Using the ambient light sensor also allows you to use adaptive brightness control within the range you specify. It will protect your eyes in the dark and will not cause glare at night. The controller will automatically dim in the dark and increase in a bright room. The system allows you to adjust the number of steps in the range from 1 to 32 and adjust the number of pixels (LEDs) for each of the steps. This can be useful if your steps have different widths. The maximum number of pixels for one step cannot be more than 255. The maximum number of address pixels for the entire staircase cannot be more than 1500, but it is better to choose lower values, not more than 800. You can read more about the calculation and selection of LED strips in the user manual. The link to the file in PDF format can be found below. If you do not need it, you can simply deactivate the sensor in the settings menu.
