The watch is made of good steel with a quality coating. The body has an excellent polish. "Molniya" is a brand of watches produced by the Chelyabinsk watch factory since 1947. Chelyabinsk watch factory "Molniya" began production on November 17, 1947 by order of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. At first, the main customer for watches was the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. Wristwatches, pocket watches, table clocks and wall clocks were produced. There was also a production of special aviation clocks AChS-1M, clocks installed in tanks, submarines and space ships. There were "Molniya" pocket watches produced specifically for miners, railroad workers and the blind. For the USA and Canada, the "Lightning" pocket watches were produced under the "Marathon" brand.
